Chips are cut daily from potatoes from family farms – there’s even a window into the potato room, so you can keep an eye on the action – while sides from mushy peas to curry sauce are all homemade.
We’ll always have a seasonal salad and veg of the day as well as one vegetarian and one classic English fish-free main.
Featuring fresh coastal shellfish to starters and sharers and a selection of grilled and lightly battered fish and chip mains, our main menu changes daily with the markets.
Up on the first floor is The Upper Deck, our indoor/outdoor space, which is bathed in light during the day and intimately cosy after dusk. With stone and wood clad walls, twinkly fairy lights and a chilled harbourside vibe, it’s the perfect spot for that holiday feel. The Scallop Shell is fully licensed and we have a carefully-chosen selection of wines and fizz to complement our dishes, available by the bottle and glass, alongside beer and cider, after dinner drinks and delicious booze-free beverages.
When the markets allow, we offer a platter of the freshest shellfish, designed to share, served with our homemade dips and sauces. These can change daily and are usually available in the second half of the week.
We also have fish to share, such as wild, line-caught sea bass, Cornish turbot or plaice.
We’re very happy to cater for your little ones and offer half-portion versions of main menu favourites, such as cod and chips and fish cakes made in-house using fresh fish, potatoes and herbs.
